Actonr's Dickensian slum
The story on the front page will come as no surprise to residents. At a recent South Acton Ward Forum, a resident on Avenue Road complained that one house was putting 60 bags of rubbish out for collection every week. He had tried to interest the Council in what was obviously an illegal HMO without success.Councillors Gulaid Walker and I went to view a mound of stinking rubbish in the alleyway off Milton Road, obviously debris from over populated flats above the shops nearby. Clearly some landlords are taking the Mick if you will be excuse my colloquialismWe may be making some progress on a strategy. More news next month. In the meantime if the rubbish pile near you is suspiciously large, do take a photo and send it to Ealng customer service and to me. I am making a collage to show the Director responsible. Might put in for the Turner prize.
