New food market coming to Acton

Excellent idea to avoid the Mount... It's not an attractive place to go ... This venue will arttract more people ... Great choice

I rather agree with Anne Brown's sentiments about the Mount.  It's a great pity that it's necessary for a second market to distance itself from the centre of Acton but I can understand why.  The Mount is filthy and it no longer has the lovely fresh produce it once had.  An example of a good market is the little Sunday market at Dukes Meadows - a delight - but a pity one has to drive to it when we could have one on our own doorstep!

Has Anne Brown been to the Market today? Very busy and lively.Fresh fish stall, home cooked Lebanese, Thai and Vegetarian Indian food and a mixture of crafts/clothes stalls and -yes-some very low cost goods stalls also --as Action West London is a local charity who runs the Market for ALL members of Acton's diverse community(plus the stall we have given to Neighbourhood Care today to promote Diabetes Health campaign?)Love Your Local Market

I'm pretty sure this is aimed at people who are willing to come on foot or cycle as its a residential, rather than commercial area - plus car fumes and eating don't really mix anyway!

Strange place for it. Would it not get more passing trade somewhere like the park? Looking forward to it though. Hopefully it gets well supported. Have seen a lot of posters for it.

I'm glad it's not going to be on the Mount. The place is filthy and the majority of the other traders (not all) seem to be selling cheap rip off tat which I'm surprised hasn't been confiscated.  I know this will be controversial so, please, no abusive responses as this is a forum not a platform and we are all entitled to our opinion.  I think having it at Derwentwater is a smart idea and I hope it's a huge success.  Please support it everyone.

It's a shame it is not on the Mount, as a replacement for the farmers' market.  I hope it does well, though.
