Acton / Ealiing Where are the English people ?

There is no doubt that moderate immigration is good for our country , but our area is being overrun by too many immigrants ! Get on any bus in Acton High street and the only language you will not here from the passengers  is English ! I know I will get people calling me NF racist (yawn yawn) but I am just telling the truth ! If you have the unfortunate experience of visiting Ealing hospital A.and E. Or Ealing homeless dept . You will very rarely see an English person of any colour .

I'm tempted to say you shouldn't have posts that suggest censorship by the masses on a local website either. In this type of tit for tat polarised discussion, the answer lies somewhere in the middle imo. But you guys will never find the common ground.

FOI request? Now I know your're really talking balls. How the Council allocates housing and to whom is public information considered each year at the Councils housing scrutiny committee meetings. No need to waste your money. Time to put your tippex away Dennis , zee facts can't be changed.

Gary I have deleted the freedom of information act information act information from my computer but have requested it again . Let's have A £ 50 bet to any charity you want to see who is right ! Yes, the UK has always been 'invaded' by 'foreigners' since time began.But the main concern now is the sheer volume of those coming and abandoning their homelands for whatever reason.  The statistics quoted are for those who come legally, the problem in all our large cities are those who are coming illegally for which there are no figures. We are told there are 10 million people living in London......  having travelled widely throughout the world, I do not believe that for one minute.That is why this issue is becoming political and why the whole of Europe is closing its doors... and Mrs Merkel has a huge problem resting on her shoulders in that she invited all to come without considering the consequences, both politically and socially.  Germany's past ghosts prompted her to act in this way......and I am sure she will live to regret it, as she will be responsible for the break up of the EU.

You believe:-we should stop immigration or expell immigrants?-no social housing allocations should go to immigrants ?-that the Council should resign and replaced by ?-there should be reviolution to overthrow the elite? You offer no solutions as I suspect you know the above is unpalatable to many people , at the moment. But should the mood music change I suspect you won't be shy in supporting these positions. Meanwhile you'll criticise by attrition undermining confidence in our institutions and values so we become more and more alienated. I'll lay my cards on the table, I definitely think you have a political agenda and not a very pleasant one.

Denis, Your posts always focus on the following :-there are too many immigrants/asylum seekers-immigrants/asylum seekers take the majority of social housing  allocations each year in Ealing (wrong)-Ealing Council is  corrupt and run by charlatans and -there is a liberal PC Guardian reading hegemony of our ruling elite .You highlight the above but provide no answers, presumably because:

Define English please, Dennis. Do you mean Anglo-Saxon? Or Church of England? Or merely white? Or English-speaking? Or English speaking as a first language? or English speaking with an accent of which you approve?Our Playing Out session this afternoon was a very English affair. It was also multi-racial (Is that OK if they were born here?) And I heard Italian and Polish accents. Is that alright if they own expensive houses and have citizenship? But what was definingly London and British, if not "English" is that we stood around and drank tea, praised the weather and discussed this summer's street party, while the children, of every hue, played together.And where's the evidence that the "English people are moving out"?

I am from Irish parents and embrace diversity but wouldn't it be great to go on the bus, go to A.and E . and see an English person!! Our great country is a model for the world for multicularism ,, but where are the Engish people? Southall Asian, South Acton Somalian ,Ealing Polish ! All the People are moving to the suburbs ! Ealing borough is losing its heart and soul as quick as the English people are moving out !!

Acton has always been settled by immigrants. All the people in this thread so far are immigrants: Brogan, Hurley, Dacey are all Irish names. It only takes a generation or two and it no longer matters. My neighbour four doors up has an Irish harp motif on his garden gate, when I chat with his grandchildren, they are all Londoners.

If I were travelling on the 207, I'd be inclined to agree with Dennis Brogan, if travelling back on the 94, I'd agree with Chris Hurley that London is a delightfully diverse place. Yet the two routes are probably less than a mile apart. We're an immigrant country and have been for millennia. No problem with that. I would suggest that the word that does need to be discussed is integration. As a country we've managed this successfully in the past but the message of the two bus routes suggests we might be struggling to do that everywhere.
