Remember when the boys did woodwork and the girls did cookery? Except by the time it was my turn I put my name down for woodwork - and was a bit disappointed when they agreed and even more disappointed when I'd had to spend two lessons waiting for a go on the lathe. So then changed to something else. I'm disappointed to this day. I could already follow a recipe and was an adequate cook.

Its a long time since I heard mention of this school.So pleased to hear (and see) that it is still there. It is so important that children learn about the food they eat and to cook it.There are a lot of young adults out there who are working as homecare workers who missed out on cookery lessons at school and at home with hard working parents who either didn't cook or didn't teach them to cook when they were younger. The elderly now have these young people visiting them and are having to instruct them on how to boil an egg and make a sandwich and a cup of tea.Are there any classes out there for them?
