Any update on when building work will begin in the old Library or has that now died a death reference a New Cinema?

So if Corinthian Curzon (Acton) is a property company set up for the purpose of constructing the cinema, are they the "landlord" referred to by Curzon Cinemas in the earlier replies to inquiries about the delay?

That's what one Of our councillors said was the reason given by the developers to the council for the delay a couple oF months ago. But all Buildings Have that sort of problem so you would think it would be factored in.

Strange. The statement from Ealing refers to Curzon Corinthian being the developer. If you Google that name it appears the real name of the company is Corinthian Curzon and that company is a joint venture between Curzon and a property company, with Curzon's CEO as one of its directors. So if Cortinthian Curzon is the developer who is holding up the project?

I've had a response to a message I sent them last night as follows :The situation in Acton is taking a lot longer than we would like, but at the moment we are in the hands of the landlord, who has acquired the building from Ealing Council. Once the shell works have been completed by the landlord, we will be able to move in and start building the cinema. I'm afraid that, at the time of writing, we don't yet have a confirmed starting date for this.Please be assured that we are still very committed to this location and are very excited about opening the cinema there.

I'm being cynical not factual. In my experience politicians can accomplish anything they set their mind to regardless of rules and regulations. Especially when it looks good for their next election. If they really wanted these projects to be done, they'd be done. It's how the rest of us deal with things. We DEAL with it. Not talk about 'hard decisions' or blame others for example 'central government' blah blah blah

Can it, under the terms of the Passmore Edwards covenant, be turned into "nothing but flats"? I thought it had to have some public access or benefit.I'm sure someone here will know...

watch how quickly progress is made when Julian Bell and his cronies decide to turn the building into nothing but flats. Then you'll see progress! Look at North Acton Square. Nothing. The Acton Library. Nothing. The Ealing Cinema. Nothing.

I have tweeted and emailed Curzon. the woman who originally handled the matter was quite helpful but she moved on and no-one responds to anything.Have also posted on their Facebook page - it needs LOTS of people to do that to have any effect.Unfortunately Curzon has become like any big chain: over-priced, offering poor or no service and wholly uninterested in the views of its potential or actual customers.
