Actons Newest Residents

Rather unsavoury topic, but what are the options in terms of evictions of a large (upwards of 50) group of travellers/gypsies who have recently taken up residency in the abandoned wasteland that straddles the A40 heading out of London just after Homebase. The Council have been notified but received a rather 'not our problem' type response.  Not looking to target a minority group here but I'm sure most will agree this isn't the sort of neighbour the community needs. I've already received the verbal treatment when walking past them on my daily commute as I watched them ferry another lorry into the site to dump waste. Thoughts anyone?

I think the vans near Ealing common were linked to the fun fair.

There also seems to a collection of vans etc on the piece of land just before you get to Ealing Common - don't know if they've taken up residency or if they were just parking temporarily

For me the problem with travellers is that they have their own  rules and do not respect or care about anyone who is not a fellow traveller.  For example they do not care much about educating their children or obeying the law of the country they are in.  In addition to this they leave places in a disgusting mess with litter and debris.  Also they are not a minority group as such.  Good luck with finding them another home - perhaps there is no more room at the camp near Asda in Park Royal so they are branching out.

The area was subject to a compulsory purchase order by the Ministry of Transport for road improvements, which were immediately cancelled by a new Labour government. Transport for London are now responsible.
