Wheelie bins and the disabled.

My neighbour has severe mobility problems and arthritis and a small frontage which is not suitable for these monster bins. Access to and from the property is impossible with the obstruction these bins cause. It's impossible to get the bins on to the property or to move them off the pavement, so I guess their home is the pavement.Did the council consult disabled people, or inspect property as to suitability?Did the council even consider the effect these bins will have on the lives of the disabled?Did the council consider how the quality of life will be effected by the obstruction(s) these inappropriate bins cause?Does this Labour council care, or have they spent to much time at The Mad Hatters Tea Party?Have the council breached any part of the Disability Discrimination Act?

The Disability Discrimination Act is being breached all the time.  These seem to be rather difficult to manoeuvre as the handle is on the opposite side to the lid opening.  So where you could possibly find it easy to put stuff in it is too difficult to turn them around in order to push them.

Sylvia contact Bodinga - DongaB@ealing.gov.uk, he is very helpful, he swapped our large bins for small ones last night, you can also order the small refuse bins on line although I had difficulty ordering the recycle bins, https://www.ealing.gov.uk/forms/form/75/en/order_recycling_containers.  Assistance assistance with manoeuvring the unwieldy monsters can also be "ordered" on line.

Good point, well made. Ealing is too haphazard and diverse to try and make every home fit the councils ideal standard of several wheelie bins for every household.We are not and don't want to all be the same. Council and EU please note.Vive la difference
