Acton Park and Southfield Park

I've noticed that since the depot has moved that Acton Park and Southfield Park seems to being neglected.  The grass is now knee high in some places and is being cut less often.  Also on the avenue in Acton Park several trees were chopped down some time ago and they have just been left.  A recent one has fallen down and is now blocking the path.  Are they ever going to be moved? Is this due to cut backs?

The fallen trees are trimmed and are great for climbing and keep fitters use them as props for pressups,  step ups and other exercises as well as insect habitat. I am sure the path will be cleared eventually. I use the park early mornings and the meadow are beautiful and always changing. I do wish the big flower bed will be planted. It has been fallow for a couple of years

There was some talk of a block of flats being built right next to Acton Central station, but I don't believe that's the case now. I do know that the council depot site is going to be a new primary school (Ark Byron). I spoke to one of the park rangers a while ago, who said that their depot was now going to be in the South Acton industrial estate. He wasn't too bothered about the change.

The new philosophy of park maintenance now seems to be a move towards 'wild meadow'. As well as being cheaper this also encourages insects and therefore birdlife. Cut down trees are left to rot to encourage stag beetles which are endangered and allow rotting trees. Was in Acton Park recently and it looked in good condition to me generally.

Planning permission was given for a large block of flats on the ex depot ground and part of the park next to the station.Presumably building work is about to begin and that is why the trees have been cut and of course why the depot has moved.
