What I think is interesting is the number of people who obviously were safeguarding their waste to some extent - maybe just not enough or for long enough - and also not being encouraged enough to reduce their waste. The number of black dustbins which have emerged has been amazing. If we hadn't have felt or didn't feel so intimidated by what the collectors might or mightn't or would or wouldn't take we could have had a much better collection system running. So much for the in word "control".We have a lot of wheelie bins on the pavement because they are too big for the small front gardens - and who wants to drag one through the carpeted hallway from the back garden. Out of date and totally crazy. There are smaller bins. Source separate, reduce volume and reduce your waste and ask for them confident that you know about how much you make and how you can legally dispose of it! Don't forget the supermarket and street recycling banks.www.therubbishdiet.orgwww.myzerowaste.comwww.recyclenow.com
