Rubbish now being dumped outside church.

My local church has had a large number of black bags and rubbish dumped outside their front door. Ever since new collection system I have noticed people dumping by bus stops parks and street bins. Fly tipping g is at an all time high The council need a re think.

Philippa,you are indeed right,many conversions are not meeting the required standards of fire safety,as an ex senior fire safety officer I used to be appalled at what people tried to get away with by the way of fire precautions and fire safety,you seen to be very enlightened however  which is excellent,well done.John.

I don't think the Council knew before or knows now how any flats there are.  So many houses have been divided - many presumably without planning permission and fire separation etc. There is also a lack of communication sometimes between different Council depts.I read that the Leader had said that flats would continue with their weekly collection.  I wonder whether the contract is clear. Apart from complaining that there are obviously more sizes of bin available than offered I've also heard complaints that the bags of textiles that we've been told we can put on top of recycling wheelies have been chucked back into gardens.

The last one.  Flats don't get bins and have nowhere to store rubbish for a fortnight.  Particularly as we don't get food bins either.And as I said earlier, the bin on the high street is the official place my bags are collected from.

I don't understand how the introduction of wheelie bins results in people dumping more bin bags in new places. Haven't they got a wheelie bin? Is it too full? If they're in a 'no bin' area, why aren't they putting their bags where they did before? Or are people putting them where they did before but the bags are no longer being collected?

I have noticed a sharp rise in fly-tipping of black bin bags around existing public rubbish bins and around red pillar boxes. I'm hoping this is just while people get used to wheelie bins - there's no reason to see black bags on the street anymore.

Not surprising.I live in a flat on the high street.  My official rubbish collection point is by a bin on the high street, so I take it there before 7am on bin day.  People who are not early risers like me probably leave it there the night before.  There is always rubbish there, and since it is on the high street it gets removed every day, so I can see the temptation to think of it as an 'anytime' service.I have not received any letters from the council about the changes to rubbish collection, and nor have my neighbours.Last time I looked at the website, it said my area still had a weekly collection of black bags and clear sacks (though the day had changed).I suspect most people in my position just don't know what the current rules are.
