Here's an eye-witness account from a local resident who just emailed me:'You may be interested to know that The Oaks was on fire this morning at about 12:30 a.m. Evidently there were two explosions and the smoke and fumes that were pouring out were dreadful, you could hardly see a hand in front of you. There were 6 fire engines in Churchfield Road and 3 at the front in the High Street. They were still putting out the flames at 1:30 a.m. A policeman must have stood guard when the fire had been put out because he was still there this morning at 8:30 a.m. They do not know what caused the explosions.'
