Horn Lane Sainsbury's

Sainsbury's is intent on opening a shop on Horn Lane where the HSS is now. There's been a notice there for quite awhile. When contacted as to why there's been no visible progress this is the response received from Sainsbury's: "Unfortunately it has taken nearly a year for Ealing Council to grant us planning permission, but we are still keen to open a store and will be starting work on the store when the current tenant vacates in October. We anticipate opening in January."Maybe Ealing Council would've acted a bit more quickly if it was going to be a 26 storey building.

Surprising large inside and good offering plus off street free parking and a cash dispenser.  I think it will do very well.  All good but how long will the independents and Spar opposite be able to carry on now?

Perhaps they will expand the existing building otherwise the new Sainsbury's local store will be rather small!

HSS has just moved out - site's been stripped.Are Sainsbury's moving into the existing building as it stands?  What are they doing with (what was) the huge hire yard out the back?  Turning it into parking?

Oh well better late than never so the Co-op will have some competition.Mind you the Co-Op have improved a lot recently after their makeover!
