Where is the best Indian resraurant in Acton /Ealing or surrounding areas

Agree about Shilpa.  They do a mean Dosa, much better than Sagar.And Taj was Namaste. I presume he's keeping his options open.

I thought so too but it's still listed on hungryhouse.co.uk and the most recent review is from last Sunday!I do like Shilpa in King Street, Hammersmith. Not fine dining but a good choice of vegetarian dishes (and the non-veggie ones are apparently good too) and very good value. Better than Sagar in my experience.

Loved (and miss) Bombay Bistro.there's a good place in Hammersmith...on the left on Kings Street going towards the roundabout. wish I could remember its name. Quite posh and pricy but good food.And Sagar if you like vegetarian.But we are usually happy with Anokha and they are very welcolming.

I was a fan of Taj and had some delicious meals from them, admittedly only as takeaways, but the quality of the cooking has dropped in the last couple of months. The subtle, delicate spicing has been replaced with overwhelming amounts of chilli, which is not much fun to eat. Shame, it was very good for a while.

Shame Bombay Bistro closed. It was rhe best in Acton. But it seemed to lose its way a bit when it became too focused on takeaway business and delivery guys in crash helmets came charging through the restaurant every few minutes. Taj in Churchfield Road is very good now.

Sakonis in Alperton is an interesting vegetarian option. Chick pea curry was superb.

Anokha has a hygeine rating of 2! What a dissapointment certainly won't go back

Hi Dennis,I'd like to recommend a few as I have tried many in Ealing and Hounslow areas and can suggest you which are quite close to being authentic as you might have guessed by now that I am Indian (from Mumbai).Pappadums in Brentford.http://www.pappadums.co.uk/And Potli in Hammersmith (veg dishes are really good)http://potli.co.uk/find.phpBTW, I'd like to suggest indo-chinese food - I am not too sure if you have tried that in the past but there are couple of restaurants which offer really authentic indo-chinese options (try chicken lollipops, hakka noodles, triple schezwan fried rice).http://www.bombay-wok.com/ (Hounslow)http://bombaychow.co.uk/ (Hammersmith)Last, but not the least. There is small restaurant in Hounslow which offers Mumbai street food and the dishes are very authentic. Sami's Spice in Brentford is very good and reasonably priced. Recommend the chicken jalfrezi (as for the non-tikka version) and the chili nan bread.Take your own booze, no corkage and it's right next door to my local, which is the best real ale pub for miles. Don't bother with the Annapurna in Chiswick unless you like watery sauces and high prices.
