Volunteers for Surplus Food Redistribution charity

The Felix Project is a charity based in Park Royal. Interesting article re a neighbouring waste authority (we belong to WLWA).We don't want short-life food to be sent for anaerobic digestion when it could be used by organisations to feed people who are going hungry.  I notice that this charity is looking for charitable organisations who could make use of donated food.  My niece who was teaching said many children don't eat breakfast and then eat their lunch when they arrive at school leaving them with no lunch...

Businesses have to pay for their waste to be collected so it must be good to be able to donate excess by the boxful and have it taken away knowing that it will be put to good use.

Anne's photo was on the front page of the Evening Standard in a major coup: the paper is advocating her charity as really worth supporting and campaigning for it to be successful.Well done - every clever to pull that off!

Dennis I read your comments and force myself to not respond to your nastiness. But this time you've gone too far. This organisation SIMPLY collects food from places such as Costco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose etc. and then passes it on to food banks, and 'soup kitchens' such as the Acton Homeless Concern. Can you understand that? Are you blonde? More than likely the reason they did not respond to your ignorant and moronic posts is because they are just that; ignorant and moronic. (as well as out of line). Why don't you get off the internet and off your ass and do something positive instead of just constantly posting vitriol. You practice nothing but 'dog whistle politics'.

I am sorry Philippa , but I think it's reasonable to ask for accounts , as too many charities ask for people to work for free when the fat cat chief executive is earning £300,000 per year !

Sounds a wonderful charity doing great things in Memory of a much-mourned son and brother. Good for you - the food redistribution is such a good thing to do - and very mucH in tune with public mood I would have thought.Great there are such generous and public-spirited people doing Things for others

Accounts ?? Free stock ,free volunteers , sounds like as usual a scam . Chief executive gets what in wages ,administration costs ? Most charities give less than 10 p in the pound to money donated !Also Us taxpayers also contribute £12 BILLION per year to charity ! Felix Project gives us some bottom line accounts , and if it is not a usual charity scam ,I will volunteer myself

I had my first of hopefully many shifts  helping these folks out today.  They are a good group of people doing a good thing, and they need help! I really recommend it, especially if you live in Acton.
