It is a waste, isn't it? My neighbour lived for ages cramped with 2 sofas, one new and one old, though in very good condition. She couldn't bear to take the old one to the tip and hoped to rehome it, but no one (no charity, not even a secondhand furniture dealer) would touch it because it was too old to have the required safety labels.Sadly, even some newer sofas have to be junked because people have thought the labels unsightly and have cut them off. So if, dear friends, you think you might one day want to rehome your sofa, leave the fire safety labels alone!
