Queen of the suburbs? Really?

Walking down Chaucer Road today, I couldn't believe how filthy it is. Does Ealing Council think it is achieving an acceptable standard of street cleaning with rubbish constantly strewn across the road, including, in this case, used panty liners (and this is after the bin collections this week).I have a photo but not sure how to post it.

Susan,unfortunately ,Acton is part of Ealing,when I first came to Acton,it was very clean,nice high street,a nice tidy place to reside,Acton Fire Station,had four fire appliances and an Ambulance,but of course it was in Middlesex County,they on have one Fire Appliance now at Acton?Then it all changed,Acton became part of Ealing,The borough ofActon ceased to exist,much to the detriment of Acton,and the steady decline started to what exists now.John.

I have for the third time, gone through six pages submitting a request for a street cleansing schedule for my street, the first was acknowledged but not answered, the second was not acknowledged, perhaps third time lucky?

I asked at the South Acton Ward Meeting if they could put the road cleaning schedules up on the website, which currently states that street cleaning is carried out weekly. The councillor's reply was that the schedule was far too complicated (for whom?) to publish, so I expect the cleaners get together over their morning brew and decide amongst themselves, where they would like to clean that day, well that is how it seems.

It's abundantly clear that Ealing Council have drastically cut street cleaning services to fund their insane wheelie bin experiment. What was a weekly service before now seems to be every 3-4 weeks, and then only after repeated complaints and photos on Twitter. I have asked the Council, and Bassam Mahfouz on Twitter, to announce the new street cleaning schedules publically. But they have ignored all my enquiries. They are clearly hellbent on meeting their arbitrarily self-imposed recycling target even it that means that we all have to wade through filthy streets as a consequence. Autumn should be fun.
