Banging during day in Stuart rd

Anybody else being bothered by constant daytime banging? It sounds like it might be noise from construction,  as the banging seems to be coming up through the Floor?  Myself and neighbours can't work out if it is from Crossrail or the oaks. It's very intrusive...

A few weeks ago Thames Water fixed a collapsed sewer west of Acton Police Station but commented that they had seen other problems to be sorted further along the same sewer. I have no idea whether that could be the source of the noise, but while any work to fix that might echo all the way along, it might be worth fixing if it prevents another collapse.

It has been going on for 2 months. In Stuart Rd it comes through the foundations when you step outside the banging isn't there. I reported it to the council and got a ref no. assured someone would call back!! I decided to call 4 weeks later. But---you can't get through to the Environmental Health commercial team or it seems today to anyone on reception either.It has been bad again today. If you work at home in relative silence it can really get to you. So what's it actually doing to the foundations of these streets? A thought I wanted to share with the council but they seem not to want to share it with me!!Geopathic stress not good for health or foundations.

I have reported to the Council just now. The banging can be heard in Birkbeck Road as well - seems to affect ground and first floors the most. It has been driving me and my neighbours mad as no-one could work out where it was coming from.

No noticeable noise in North Acton despite the number of tower blocks going up, I think they normally use a rotary cutter. Could the noise be due to Thames Water digging their new sewage system? Or trapped sewer rats trying to escape?

We had most of the day Saturday very bad as I am near south acton but I spoke to one of the guys on site and he says not them

Another thread has been started indicating that people in South Acton are hearing this noise, although it could be from the construction closer to home around them. This noise is affecting people  all over Acton. Its worth complaining to Ealing Council as they can investigate to ensure that the construction company at the Oaks(or elsewhere)  has done everything it can to keep the noise of the piling to a minimum. I wonder whether we could also ask for the hours of work to be restricted,  as having the noise on Saturday mornings seems really unfair.

So it's now impacting farther afield.I live very near the churchyard and my neighbours and I have been putting up with constant noise and vibrations for weeks and weeks now. Headache making.It's supposed to go on till October! That's the demolition.Thereafter we will get a new set of noises.It's going to go on for a long, long time.

I am glad someone brought this up! Thank you. It is awful. I could not identify the problem, also thought it was plumbing or someone digging a tunnel! Will call the council... It is all we seem to do nowadays with the rubbish saga and now the banging noise... Zzz

Ok.Had a call from Ealing council. Today noise should stop by 2pm in line with construction best practice.Femi- who I spoke to said that they will hand deliver. Letter on Monday to the site to mention the complaint. Femi also said that the more people that complain about the noise the higher priority the case becomes. Can I suggest that if you are affected you call and log your complaint.The number to call is: (020) 8825 8111

I agree.I have called Ealing council.I wonder if they could use a slight less invasive method- maybe whatever they are doing plus water to dull down sound? They had been no notice of this and it is like torture to me. I'll post if I get any more info from council.Maybe others could call up too?

I kind of appreciate this is probably something that needs doing however it would be much better if we would get some sort of information (in particular how long this will be taking) - this must be affecting hundreds if not thousands of people.

Yes. It's here too.Building restrictions should mean it finishes 1pm / 2pm today.For the first 2 days I was running around my house listening incase it was my plumbing!! It is driving me NUTS I think it's the foundations of the oaks going in

Same here (Chaucer Road near Myrtle Road). It is clearly on some sort of builder schedule (starts at 8.30 - finishes at 4 or so, today started at 9 and seems finished here).

Heard here in Burlington Gardens too. Sometimes sounds like it's coming up through the floorboards or directly overhead, like a giant washing machine on a random spin cycle. Hope it signals progress on the Oaks.
