Is this a matter of opinion?

I was filling in a customer-satisfaction survey online this morning and the last question was 'Do you consider yourself to be a UK citizen'?Now either you are or you aren't a UK citizen, as a matter of legal fact. It's not something you decide for yourself, something you 'consider'.

Luckily for us, our problems aren't really on the scale those living in Aleppo face, are they? We could afford to help those fleeing bombs and persecution rather more than we do. And whatever your views on economic migration, surely human compassion means those endangered by appalling violence ought o be given a safe haven - especially those children who have rights to come here under Dublin 3 or who our parliamentary democracy agreed, when it accepted the Dubs amendment, should be given refuge. It's an outrage that, with a sovereign parliament which voted in favour, the executive have stalled and stopped A SINGLE CHILD from being admitted under Dubs.How can that be right?

WE may not be full,however we cannot keep taking people in with lack of housing,hospitals.schools,etc.it is totally wrongto think we can cope,England has always taken in the needy,its time to rethink this policy and think of our own for once before its to late,we have many problems here that need urgent attention?

do you travel at all John? If you do, you would see that the UK has vast swathes of country, which is wholly empty.Whatever else we are, full we are not.

I consider myself a UK citizen because I am. I also consider myself a European citizen but that may soon become a matter of opinion when I lose the automatic right to live or work in 27 other countries. So that is 'taking back control'?

Politicians no longer refer to the people they are supposed to serve as Citizens but as Consumers wanting ever more choice and consumer goods.Consumer confidence is what they are seeking out. Keeping the shelves stacked to keep us happy.Much as I'd love to , I don't feel like a citizen, despite what it says in my passport.

Perhaps people who have dual citizenship may not feel as if they are a citizen of one place, because the identify so strongly with the other place?I don't know, really, but I think the idea of 'citizenship' is a little woollier than some other terms, such as nationality.Or perhaps the person devising the questions just didn't have a clue :)
