Vile woman hurling abuse at a mother and child

To the grey, long haired psychopathic witch riding her bike at 4.50pm on Leythe Rd W3 on Tuesday 27 September 2016, I hope you are feeling rotten today about the abuse you hurled at me and my 3 year old son. You clearly are a very unhappy person to have screamed at a tired mum walking her little boy and her dog, yelling at her that just because her child was slightly ahead of her whilst crossing a road on his scooter after she had looked for cars and saw none, then you appeared on your bicycle out of nowhere to tell me that I should be more careful with him, that I do not deserve to be a mother and that I'm an irresponsible, stupid woman!I'm not sure if you have children or grandchildren, whatever you do or don't have I have no doubt you are a very lonely and bitter human being so instead of being angry, I just feel really really sorry for you. Good luck lady, you need it!

So you think that gives her the right to yell abuse? To tell a mum in front of her son that she does not deserve to have children! Does she know the pain and loss I went through to have children? That kind of personal attack was uncalled for and just so you know, she was way off hitting/killing my son. He was a step in front of me, I had my hand on his shoulder and I will not thank a woman who obviously had a bad day, needed a vent and scared my son to the point he is still saying 2 weeks later, "what a horrible lady she was mummy."

Anne, where is the misogyny in that post? A witch can be male as well. Personally I would have hurled a four letter rant back at her - ok I'm sure the tree huggers will chase me down Churchfield road with torches, but sadly some people just love to cause pain and distress, and why should they get away with it?Burn the witch I say!!! (Ok that last bit was a joke before you all start).

"Long haired psychopathic witch"!  What misogyny, and from a woman.  For my part, I always held on to  both my children's hands when crossing any road, no matter how quiet it might be, and didn't let go until we were safely on the pavement.

I agree, it's truly horrible when long haired psychopathic witches appear out of wormholes in time like the DeLorean in Back to the Future. How dare she be in the road, and how dare she shout at you for letting your child cross the road whilst she was coming. Surely she should be able to predict exactly when pedestrians walk (or scoot) out in front of her. Maybe she just shouldn't ride her bike at all...

Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, people on bicyclescan't simply "appear out of nowhere". Whether peopledon't see them coming, is another matter.One possible reason this "long haired psycopathic witch" was so abusive might have been becauseshe immediately realised the possible consequences had she hit you three year old son. She might have killed or seriously injured him. Somethingshe would have had to live with for years to come, despite it being no fault of hers.The fact that this dreadful possibility still doesn't seem to have registered with you, the fact that yourthree year son could have been killed or seriously injured had the "long haired psycopathic witch" nottaken avoiding action, as compared with your own "hurt feelings" about her reaction, really speaks for itself,  I'm afraid.The contrast with the example of baby left outside the church, is that the person in question wouldn'thave been directly responsible if the  baby had indeed been snatched, hence the "quiet word".  Whereas the "long haired psycopathic witch" could have been directly instumental in killing or injuring your son despite it not being her fault. Hence her reaction.  In your position I think I'd be be thanking my lucky stars that my son was unharmed, and to look more carefully when crossing the road in futureno matter how tired I was.michael adams

Hello Caroline. I don't know you but I'm really sorry that this happened to you. I think all parents reading your post would empathise with you and hope that you can put this awful incident behind you, forget it and move on. I am very sensitive and negative comments made to me have festered in me for years and have not helped me at all, I hope this is not the case for you. Sometimes we can be very quick to judge each other, maybe because of guilt about mistakes we ourselves have made in the past. I have noticed in some people,a rising trend to be condemning of others and I think you were a victim of this. A long time ago, before the wheelchair access to St. Mary's church hall by Morrisons was made, I left my buggy outside the church doors for literally 6 seconds whilst I delivered a letter. When I returned to the buggy a lady was standing there and she said to me very lovingly " don't ever leave your child again, not even for 1 second" My experience was very different to yours because she spoke with kindness and care. However, both she and the lady on the bike who shouted at you had the same concern at heart- the concern for a child and I hope you can put this behind you and rejoice in the gift of motherhood with all it's ups and downs! I wish you all the best.
