Kew Village Market - 2nd October - 10:00-14:00

Come and join the party at this Sunday’s Kew Village Market as we celebrate our 5th birthday! There’ll be a bumper 45 stalls – with special birthday offers from many, including French jewellers Atelier Chokerbali, relish supremos Anila’s Sauces and purveyors of the finest free-range meat and poultry Hunt’s Hill Farm. As we move into autumn Winterbourne Game will be bringing partridge, venison and wild boar and Ildiko’s Chocolate are launching their amazing artisan hot chocolate. We’re also pleased to welcome two new stalls: Forest Treasures, selling truffles and wild mushrooms (scrummy with the new season’s game) and the Cold-Pressed Oil Company with their home-grown answer to olive oil. For a complete list of this month’s stalls, look up: http://www.kewvillagemarket.org/stalls-this-month/. Our generous stallholders will also be donating hampersful of prizes for our traditional Grand Birthday Raffle – all in aid of local charities, of course, so please be sure to buy a ticket or three. Also our charity stall this month will be for Embracing Age who’ll be fund-raising with a variety of hand-made crafts. Talking of charities, at 12.45 Mayor of Richmond (and KVM Chair) David Linette will be there in full regalia to present a total of £5000 to five local good causes – £1000 each to: Cambrian Community Centre to improve their gym facilities; Kids Come First for workshops for separated parents; Learn English at Home to help vulnerable local residents who do not have English as their first language; Momentum to aid families with children with life-limiting conditions; and TAG to buy equipment for their youth club for disabled young people. Since KVM launched five years ago (can it really be that long?) its all-volunteer team has given away over £35,000 to local good causes. And we’re hoping to raise even more with a brand-new double-sided KVM cotton bag, exclusively designed and hand-printed for us by local textile company and regular stallholders Witts Design. It’s been such a pleasure to work with mother-and-daughter partners Michelle and Stephanie and we hope you’ll love their design with its delightful drawing of the market as much as we do. Of course it wouldn’t be a birthday party without ballons (thanks to Balloon Works) and cake (ours will have been specially baked by KVM regular The Damsel Cake Company). And when it comes to music we’ll be royally entertained by the quintessentially English Hanwell Ukulele Group (or HUG as they’re even more nicely known) – so among their numbers we look forward to a strumming serenade of Happy Birthday to us! Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday, 2nd October from 10am to 2pm.
