Warning:  Robbery in Morrisons Supermarket

Last Thursday afternoon (13th October) two people were pickpocketed in Morrisons - I was one. The thief was spotted by an Australian who challenged him, he but ran away. She identified him to the police on CCTV. He was Middle Eastern, 30's and wearing grey tracksuit bottoms.(Due to data protection I was not allowed to see the CCTV apparently). Pickpockets are so quick and neither of us had any idea what had happened till too late.  I gather from Morrisons and other shoppers that in the run up to Christmas, this happens more frequently. So please be very aware!   And if anyone finds a dark green leather purse with various cards and my daughter's photo inside - please could you give it to the police....

Last week I was thanked by a very kind young man for rushing after him with his cash he'd left behind in a NatWest machine. He also picked out £20 and put it into my coat pocket as a further show of gratitude even though I protested.

You was very lucky an honest person see it first, I was behind a chap at a cash machine he left without picking up his cash so called him back he took the cash and never even said thank you, just don't understand some people's behaviour.

I got the contactless chip taken off my card after I'd bought something before I'd made the final decision to by it.  I must have been close enough to the machine.

Experience differs. I took £50 out of one of the self service tills and forgot to pick it up. I was at the door before I remembered and went back. No money and the shop was very busy. Ibspoke to a supervisor who took me to the guy operating the CCTV. I stood beside him while he rewound the camera to show me not picking up the money we could clearly see sticking out, followed by one of the assistants taking the money and returning it to the machine. They opened the till and there was my £50 quite safe. Everyone was charming. The only person I in the wrong was me.

Sadly it's like this everywhere now, my next door neighbour had her bag stolen in Waitrose, also they will follow you out and push you over to get your bag, I see this happen to an elderly lady she was 82 fortunately not badly injured because she fell on grass verge, I always wear a cross body bag and wear jacket or coat over the top so its not visible.

A friend saw thieves blatantly shoplifting and told a member of staff. The reply was that staff are advised not to confront them in case it becomes aggressive. Oh, and that he could call the police and report it himself. So there you go, free shopping. Unreal. I also hear that the regular shoplifters do the rounds in some pubs and thieve to order. Suppose it's quicker than waiting for an online delivery.

Morrisons is a complete hotbed of crime and the management don't take it at all seriously. The CCTV is usually completely rubbish and the security guards - when there are any - are completely uninterested in the implications of their role (like its about preventing crime - duh!)
