properties for sale in Acton area

It's a waste of time having the page Properties for sale on this website.Whenever I call the estate agents the properties are always sold Infact they usually don't know the property I'm enquiring about.A waste of space and time.

This seems to be the 21st century version of flyboarding. Some agents are clearly keeping up listings long after they have already been sold. They do this because they have so few instructions on their books at the moment and it would be embarrassing for them for this to be known. The hope would be that when you enquire about a property that isn't available they might be able to interest you in one that they have the instruction for. Don't know about the legality of this but you should ask them to get the listing removed if the property isn't for sale or to let.

Lucy et al.,Estate agent boards indicating that a property is for sale or for rent and it's not true are illegal. I had this case around Windsor Road a couple of years back. It's a problem that rears its head every so often but only if people notice and report it that the council can take action. Contact Regulatory services at Ealing Council. There'd be something to be said for contacting the police and saying that someone is trying to sell your house. That way the dodgy estate agents would get a nasty rocket up their fundaments.

Yes, sorry it was Lucy said it was a marketing scam, my Sisters never had any problems of identity theft.  That happen to my friend someone tried to take out a loan in her name for £25,000.00

That's not what I said, Janice! This wasn't a marketing scam, but an attempt by a fraudster who had stolen their identities to sell their house.

Hi Susan they came to the same conclusion that it was a marketing scam, they request that the information be removed.  never knew a similar case was in the paper recently.

Janice, there was a news item in the Times this week about a man jailed for stealing identities and even trying to sell the houses of the people whose IDs he'd stolen. That was how he got caught, in fact, when one of them noticed their house for sale on a website.Maybe your sisters should check with the estate agents!

I think it’s all a marketing scam. The agents want their name out there – anywhere they can get it.On a similar note – this post has just prompted me to call iproperties as they have their ugly boards all up Churchfiled Road but the properties are not actually for let (the boards have been up for ages). It’s very frustrating as it makes the area look quite messy and run down. I wish the landlords of these properties would take more care over how the area looks.The guy I spoke to said that he will check with his manger about when they are getting taken down and that I'll get a call back.

Not the Acton area, but my Sisters see their homes up for sale on a site with prices etc., and they had never been put on the Market.  Any Estate agents out there that can explain whats going on?
