illegal activity in horn lane

for a few months this blacked out shop has seen some very  questionable persons frequentingit. The police have been advised and nothing has been done. somking shisha inside urinating in the alley behind probalby no licence to operate. Not open to the public no menu apparently this is supposed to be a cafe. Any advice???? the location is 323 horn lane. There are young children living in the flats above and I fear they are smoking inside and do not have the correct insurance. This is an accident waiting to happen.  Neighbours have reported this to the police to no avail. I am sure there is something illegal going on.

yes this is related to the illegal cafe in Horn Lane. At lastthe police have done something.Increased flytipping at the same site does not appear to have been prosecuted by the council.So much for the blurb about sorting out flytipping in  the mini magazine the council distribute - the mag is a waste of money. If the council give this place a licence I would be stunned.

Well yes. We asked the local police to take a look. Not only was there no sign of a licence, someone was piling refuse against the pollution monitoring station on the traffic island across from the cafe, The Council tell us they are surveying all the shisha cafes in the Borough as some are becoming a regular source of complaints from neighbours.

You need to increase contact with Councillors to make sure that something gets done.  Some will be more interested in particular areas of their job representing the residents in the area than others. Contacting all of them will mean that they can decide amongst them who will take action and will mean that they should all know the situation - so it shouldn't be forgotten.

a  local friend of mine has contacted a local councillor, ealing council and the police.So far - nothing.

Is there a legal requirement for a cafe to provide a toilet and washing facilities for both staff and customers?

The Councillors for the area?  You don't say whether you are a neighbour but if you were then it should be possible for several of you to get together to talk to a/the Councillors but even if you are not a neighbour you could still contact them.  https://www.ealing.gov.uk/info/201044/councillors

So good to see a paragraph like that!  All neighbours should be made aware/make themselves aware.I can't comment on the legality/illegality of what is happening there.  If I was a neighbour and there was an issue I would.
