Thank you so much Ireen and everybody who has been reposting the petition and the objection letters to this proposal, Although the consultation closed yesterday the Environment Agency will consider objections made today and tomorrow. Its a busy time but if you could spare two minutes.Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 (as amended) Notice of Public Consultation – S. Walsh and Son Limited, Horn Lane, Acton. (EPR/EB3409XX/A001). Application Details Application number: EPR/EB3409XX/A001 Regulated facility type: A16: Physical Treatment Facility Regulated facility location: Horn Lane, Acton, London, W3 0JN I am an Acton resident living five minutes walk from the Horn Lane goods yard where the proposed waste management site would be located. I am also the secretary of the Churchfield Community Association. There are many reasons to object to the proposal but I will just name two. You will have already received a more detailed objection from the Chair of the Resident Liaison group.1 Noise.Given the proposed tonnage of waste to be processed under these proposals it is inevitable that a large proportion would have to enter and leave the site at night outside of the passenger train timetable. This is a densely populated residential area and the disturbance to sleep would be considerable. At present Aggregates (a competitor) of this organisation VERY rarely attempts late night processing. This usually results in unscheduled visits from irate neighbours in dressing gowns and a stream of complaints to the Borough noise abatement team. Aggregates admit it isn't really possible to undertake noisy work at night in this area. S Walsh and Sons Ltd would have similar experience and most likely would be served notice to stop working at night immediately.PollutionI note with incredulity that the proposal allows for up to fifty additional vehicles travelling along Noel Road daily, although the expectation is that the numbers might be lower. This is a residential road with four schools nearby and is already an area of concern. For the avoidance of doubt the schools are- West Acton primary school- The Japanese school- The Greek school- The Japanese nursery school (which is next door)Your agency has been of enormous help in monitoring the pollution levels in the area, working closely with Ealing Borough Enforcement and residents. As you will already have noted, we have had some success in reducing PM10s pollutants because two waste management companies have taken their business elsewhere. The levels of pollution coming from traffic on Horn Lane and Noel Road remain of concern. To consider adding to this level of pollution with another fify vehicles would not be tolerable.I hope you will consider my comments on this proposal carefully and refuse a licence.Yours sincerelyMaire Include your full name and address
