Local Speed Camera London's 'Most Prolific Revenue Generator'

And I was one of its 154 victims a day - after 43 years driving with a completely clean licence.I was VERY miffed as was driving at 36 on a road where I had done exactly that for decades with no problems. And I swear there were no signs....But I have grumpily done drivers' ed course (nearly £100 but no points - no coffee either)But such a revenue raiser - no wonder its unchanged

That's the problem isn't it John. It's so alienating, particularly for people who are consciously law-abiding. I was really proud of my unbroken record which I feel was destroyed through no fault of my own.And it does nothing to enhance respect for the rule of law.Which is short-sighted.

They scammed me too. Two 36mph tickets in a week after driving on that road for over 15 years. Completely dishonest way of criminalising normal drivers and extorting money off them. The MET and TFL should be ashamed of this abuse of their powers.

Agree, speed limits change at short distances, think to trap us.

I remember doing 35mph on 2 occasions in Sept 2016 but only because I was getting used to the speed limiter on my new car, I accidentally set it to 35mph instead of 30mph. Thankfully I didn't receive any points/fines. Although, my health took it's toll from weeks of worrying if I was caught or not. The camera did flash on those 2 occasions though.The 20 mph sign just behind the camera is ridiculous. It's so confusing.
