Often it falls on just one of the children to do the most which causes resentment within the family, very difficult situation for the sick or elderly. I was called on the most because of living nearest, was widowed and trying to get a living alone, although my mother got good help which she did pay for but cannot fault the help she had there was more to do because she was registered blind so I had to do any paperwork which was time consuming, hospital, doctors, dentist it goes on and on and wasn't well myself, lost my income and rest of the family happily getting on with their lives but I would never have abandon my mother.
