South Acton Safer Neighbourhood Team: Cuppa with a Copper

A new Police initiative that is picking up momentum is “Cuppa with a Copper”.During a session of 1 hr long, PC Dave Young & SNT team will be at a local cafe waiting for members of the public to join them. Please come and meet your SNT for a chat, share a concern, and/or voice your views about a local matter or even to say thank you. No need to book just join.Cuppa with a Copper upcoming sessions will take place 22/02/17, 16/03/17 and 20/04/17. All sessions will be from 5-6 pm and will be held at Starbucks near Ealing Common Tube.

Thanks, Paul. I had seen the tweet. Both @mpsacton and @mpsactoncentral are linked to the Police team of Acton Central. Southfield Ward Police started the cuppa with a copper initiative, last year, which  has been very successful and have since completed 5 sessions in January/February of this year and a total of 20 sessions since last Sept. An achievement to be honest.Their sessions have been widely publicised by the Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators/network, the Southfield Ward Panel, and by the police team.  Recently I have received the session dates from South Acton Police, already posted in here, tweeted and circulated via the  South Acton NW team/network. I have not received any information with this regard from the Acton Central's police. Their website shows yesterday's session and an upcoming one on March the 3rd. Location 'Bridge Cafe near Saxon Drive'.

It depends on the coffee shops that welcomed the idea of having coppers around. I know from our experience in Southfield Ward, only Laveli's and a local baker Plum Duff accepted to be on board/part of this new initiative.The scheme continues to develop and changes could take place.
