Accident on Horn Lane

I'm seeing a message on Facebook concerning a nasty traffic collision  at the junction of Horn Lane and Noel Road earlier this evening.I can't find anything on the site here. Anyone know any more?

Who in their right mind would put a loading bay outside the Indian takeaway so close to the Noel Road junction entrance?! These days just about anyone with a big van or lorry parks there for lunch which causes IMMENSE road congestion and the 440 bus struggles to get through. Even worse, the road becomes a one way system and oncoming traffic rarely lets you pass through.

Yet another accident on that roundabout,  I find that drivers coming from Leamington Park just carry on down Horn Lane, regardless if someone is actually on the roundabout coming from Noel Road turning right onto Horn Lane.As for approaching it with just one lane from Acton, that will cause untold chaos.

The plan is to reduce the traffic to one lane on each of the Horn Lane approaches to the roundabout. I'm not sure why this will make any difference other than to increase congestion at busy times. As to the council officers saying one can't put in rumble strips, I've heard councillors say this. But why? I see no good reason why this can't work. Mayble our councillors should stand up to the council officers.

I checked on the Boroughs website, and there was a Consultation in December, and it looks like there will be changes at the Junction.

The car is still there parked on Noel Road outside the church. No driver door and the car looks 80% wrecked. I was so shocked as I drove past earlier. Drivers coming from Horn Lane still don't respect the roundabout rule and continue driving ahead instead of giving way to the cars turning into Noel Road from the right. This needs urgent consultation because once McDonald's opens this will be even more dangerous.

Vehicle approach speeds need to be reduced. Rumble strips on Horn Lane would do the job and act as a physical warning to driver that they're approaching an island. The lights are there to protect pedestrians at what has historically been a dangerous junction for them.

I've always thought that traffic lights and  a yellow box would be best at this junction. So many drivers just don't stop at the roundabout to look if anything is coming. The councils idea of taking away the second lanes on the approach to the roundabout won't make drivers stop it'll just mean more congestion.

Yet again a car appeared to ignore the ROI dabiit at the junction of Noel road and struck a car turning right into Noel road. The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident had to be cut out of his vehicle. Hopefully no one was seriously hurt. This junction is dangerous and we have requested that the traffic lights are re positioned to the junction and the roundabout removed. The council want the lights removed all together.
