At this rate, Curzon wont have done anything at all in three years...not start to finish or similar

To be honest the Pound Land, Iceland and Sports Direct were really handy stores. Especially if you are not awash with dosh like me and I suspect many others living in Acton.

I disagree. Property development takes time it will happen, it's a shameIt's taken so long but I think it's better to have the cinema than the arts centre for the sake of speed to market.. The cinema will happen and cinemas are amazing for revitalising city centres. They attract other business, restaurants, bars etc to cater to the people who visit the cinema. This is well documented.As for the oaks. Endless discussions, arguments, fights and talking and no one is ever 100% happy. The developers need to make money and we need a new shopping area and more housing. Compromise needs to be made. So rightfully the decision was made and we are moving forward. Not stuck in the past with the terrible eye-sore that was the oaks. They say they started knocking it down I was very happy! Bring on change.

Property development takes a long time. I think that's what everyone fails to understand. There is always disruption and pain along the way it's a symptom of change, in this case positive change. Honestly 3 years fro start to finish isn't that long. I still haven't seen the usual suspects who wanted to keep the terrible pound store and othe useless stores voicing their opinions on here.

There would be little wrong with library being given to Curzon - on the grounds that it would provide a cinema quicker and more sustainedly than the local arts group. Except it's how many years later and the place is still an abandoned library with no sign of life or development.And the Oaks remains an incongruously tall potential blot on Churchfield road with insufficient attention to infrastructure or the impact on the local community.I'd welcome an M&S Simply Food - though many are worried about the effect on our local independent traders - but it doesn't make the development a good one nor the decision to go ahead with it well-taken.

Where are all the complainers about the oaks development now? The nonstop , endless whinging and moaning about actual development and progress in the borough drives me crazy. It seems like most people here would rather we were stuck in early 1900's.Things that come to mind that people moan about...the south acton estate redevelopmentthe library being given to curzonthe oaksanything that involves building something new
