I don't think it matters Maire. Even if every Lib Dem voter was smart enough to vote tactically, due to Scotland and gerrymandering a progressive alliance wouldn't be enough to defeat the Tories.It would take perfect tactical voting, plus people that have never voted before voting on a historically unprecedented scale.Still, as noted novelist Ian McEwan pointed out recently, as time goes by your typical Tory-brexit-capitalists die and your typical Labour-remain-socialists become eligible to vote. It's simply a waiting game.
