Rum and Jerk Festival 2017

apparently an application has gone in to Ealing Council for this event to take place August 18-29.  The Goldsmiths Residents Association, Shaa Road Residents Association, and Local Councillors have all objected to this.  The event is proposed to last from 1030- 2230 Friday 18 and Saturday 19 August, and 1130-2130 Sunday 20 August.  They are hoping to attract something like 3000 people. It appears that the closing date for objections was 25 April - I don't know if it is still possible to make objections.  Obviously this is not something that is wanted by residents living close to the park.

Yes - it's twelve hours per day -finishing at 2230.  As far as I can see the event organisers have said they will be responsible for security and an entrance fee of approx. £12 will be charged

To be clear - the Rum and food event will take place during these hours1030- 2230 Friday 18                                  =    12 hours and Saturday 19 August,                            =    12 hours and 1130-2130 Sunday 20 August.          =    11 hoursWill those 3,000 (surely an underestimate) people be drinking all day?  and if so will there be adequate toilet facilities?How much are the organisers being charged to hold this event in a publicly owned park?  And how many Council Officers / Police / Medical personnel be on hand should there be problems?Will those attending be charged an entrance fee?

This will make any difference to the state of the park, Ealing do very little to keep it clean.It's a breakfast spot for foxes (you should see the bins at 7.30 - crap everywhere), a toilet for the homeless (again, crap everywhere) and a dumping ground for people/businesses who have leftover food. If you go to other parks in the borough it makes you realise how disgustingly dirty Acton Park is. What's wrong with people in Acton that they can't respect the place?

Damn I'm away.Really like a drop of Grenadian rum especially Westerhall 10.Just the thing to drink with a good fish fry and some Jerk Pork (not a lover of jerk chicken).Luckily the jerk stall should be at Hanwell Carnival next month.Hope that a good time is had by all.

The same as of all us council tax payers . If the event is that great the promoters should pay the massive police bill , rather than leaving us council taxpayers who would rather see our streets cleaned , rather than paramedics , police helicopters, gang fights , etc Get real how much will it cost and who pays for the inevitable crime ?

Problems are noise for residents in the area, parking, litter, late finish, damage to the park, which Ealing has spent a lot of money on and which is a Green Flag award holder and the lack of the park for the countless people that use it during the summer school holidays.
