Janice we felt bad as part of the wall collapsed into next door neighbour's garden, so we wanted it sorted out ASAP. Being on a local forum we really thought it would be fine and the guy gave a reasonable quote for a wooden fence and at the same time we thought it a good idea to replace the garden shed.9am next morning he was there prompt, came in with hammers and other tools, asked for money to get wood panels and so on. Before we knew it the entire brick wall was lying next door!!!We rang our neighbour and explained what happened, he rang back and said the wall has to be brick due to sewage pipes underground. Of course this meant yet more money, it must have been a bonus for our conman! The "Builder" said he would get the materials and return within 30 minutes. Told us twice to look after his tools (ladder, drill, hammers and so on). The penny dropped when he never returned within the hour so we rang the local police. Our insurers assessor declined our claim today saying the wall was old and bowed. we have been with Saga for as long as we can remember and never made a claim! My husband spent one and a half hours trying to speak to someone from Saga, finally he spoke to someone who said this is the Co-Op. After another long wait they said Saga is like an broker and we would come under Legal and General. We will appeal against this decision, and we will never renew with Saga again. Loyalty does not pay! They gave a new policy number. We had no idea this was now a change from previously. We just kept on paying them on direct debit! Unfortunately we just renewed our policy in May!  Honestly it just gets worse and worse. We will appeal this decision but it goes to show loyalty doesn't payWe can't sleep with worry and regret for getting caught up in this scam. Our neighbour is not happy as he has to sell up and of course with a dispute going on he can't sell his property! Let us just hope and pray this man will be caught and put out of business! Now we have to try and find the money for a new wall but after losing this large sum of money to a conman we will be hard pressed to even get wooden panels!  He even knocked our side entrance wall down which was made of wooden posts and pipes. We hadn't realised he knocked this down until afterwards!Let us just hope and pray this man will be caught and put out of business
