Horrendous fire in Grenfell Tower

Dreadful news and ever so close to home.... who knows how many have died but it seems like quite a few must have done.This patch in shock too - apart from not being able to get anywhere/go to work/do much, I have already spoken to people who attend church nearby or are having their first day off in six years because their van was parked nearby or who know people who lived in the building - and rather far up.High-rises, like aeroplanes, make me nervous but you don't expect them to go up like tinder.It's been a rough time for London recently, hasn't it.

Sara,The inquest and the Coroners findings,how ever in this case there are so many factors to consider,and fatalities to deal with its going  to take time,regards John.

If there is a public inquiry, led by a judge, is there a coroner's inquest as well?If so, which goes first or do they run in tandem.Apparently a Newsnight interviewee said that a judicial public inquiry - though more wide ranging- was less likely to be able to ask the searching questions a coroner can - which is why it was announced so quickly.I am merely passing this on - I have no idea if it's the case

Janice,It was a new policy,stay put,in my time it was get out and stay out,no doubt it will change after this event,chain ladder would not be advisable build too high,internal means of escape needed improving BADLY? regards John.

Even if they heard a smoke alarm they were advised to stay inside, poor souls had no escape route from the upper floors, chain ladders at least should be in each flat.

Philippa,I am not blaming the cladding for the start of the fire,but it contributed the the speed and spread of the fireand should not have been used if it was known to have caused problems eleswhere,regards John.

Dennis,This need not have happened if people had done thier job right,heads must role,being in the fire safety field myself i would be going into hiding if this was anything to do with me,thank god it was not,somebody made a big error,this cladding has caused problems elsewhere so how come it was used.regards John.

Piers Morgan ripped the Director of firm who did the refurbishment. He had no idea what the exterior cladding was made of .We need a quick answer not a white paper lasting 2 years , so this will never happen again.
