BE VIGILANT: Opportunist Burglar near North Acton Playing Fields

Approximately 1:50pm this afternoon I heard sounds of a wheelie bin being moved around (no wind), I thought that's odd because my neighbours usually do that after the collection on Thursday midday. Then my dad came home early from work at 2pm to discover the front garden door wide open (it's got a deadlock) and a rubbish wheelie bin in front of it, probably used to climb on top and unlock the door. Haven't reported it to the police because I know nothing can be done about it, my stupid CCTV reset itself in the morning and didn't record anything plus nothing was taken. Although all the doors and windows on my property have safety grilles so I'm thinking they ran off because of this.On 4th June 2017 there was a break-in on Saxon Drive as reported by MPS Acton Central - https://twitter.com/MPSActonCentral/status/873586065889787904PLEASE STAY VIGILANT.Thank you.

This is very concerning.Thank you for posting this and making us all aware.I hear what you are saying about not reporting this to the police, but maybe a good idea to incase there are other people that have experienced the same.

I agree Janice, my hedges in 2013 was too high and blocked the view of neighbouring properties. Definitely contributed to the ease of breaking and entering.

Fences are not that high, although we've got 90% hedges all around and it's cut down occasionally. My house was badly burgled in late 2013 and they came from the rear side of the property, made a hole in the opposite neighbours hedges. Thankfully got security grilles all around the property.Last December they used a drone to look into properties from the rear side. They're definitely outsmarting the police and thus it's harder to catch them.

Simon I have notice a few have done this, wonderful for burglars, the more people overlooking your property the better or safer.

You have a front garden door with a deadlock? Are you in one of the houses which have built high walls/fences around your front garden?

Recommend that you do report it to the police as this helps them to build patterns and link similar activity.
