Financial Advisor - Pensions

Can anyone recommend a financial advisor who is honest and trustworthy and does not charge the earth for  advise on a relatively small pension and what to do with it? Many thanks.

Natalie,If not used already you may want to browse this website for general information on your specific facts - the Pension Advisory Service (PAS) is run with UK Government (DWP) funding to provide independent advice from any IFAs, and it has a lot of helpful advice.https://www.pensionsadvisoryservice.org.uk/If the total value of your pension fund is not great you will find a lot of financial advisers will not touch or will quote a very high fee given the regulatory system they face in giving such advice, hence the attraction of PAS - I have no experience of Gnosco Financial Planning in Acton so cannot comment on that firm.

Contacted Gnosco Financial Planning  and they were brilliant !!  Really helpful and gave me useful advice without charging!!!  Will definitely recommend them and use them in the future.  Thanks for the recommendation.

Take the tax free cash straight away and withdraw the rest as lump sums up to your tax threshold each year. Unless you are super risk averse and then buy an annuity, the rates are low - but they are guaranteed.Reduce the equity exposure in the pot if you go for the 1st option. That's for free. But if I was going to pay someone anything I wouldn't go cheap. So, find out yourself or pay properly..is my humble advice.
