Morrisons trollies

Since Morrisons have removed the £1 coin deposit locks from their new trollies they are springing up all over Acton - I suppose it is down to the new coin design, but what a shame - it looks so untidy.

As I drove past Churchfield Road and on to Horn Lane earlier this evening, I saw a woman with an empty morrisons trolley with her son in the seat. She was talking to a man through his front window (the flats opposite morrisons delivery area). I suspect people are using trolleys instead of a push pram. When they are finished with it they dump it on the pavement, most people will say so what. When it's windy the trolley can easily dent a parked car! It's happened to me before at the Ealing Broadway store, people don't bother to take 5 extra steps to return the trolley back to it's place.

The smaller trollies have the coin entry locks back on , as of last Friday when I went. Not sure about the larger ones though.

I called Morrisons Head Office and they are going to make contact with the Acton store. I told them I have seen two abandoned trollers just on our road! Apparantly they are looking to re-introduce some sort of lock deposit system as they are aware that this is a problem...

They might find they are gone by the time they want them back.  I remember Sainsbury's being closed because someone had stolen all their trolleys overnight.

No call from  morrison  and they haven't  collect  the ones I reported  plus they  more aghh

Can't believe a trolley costs £120-£150 and £22 for the £1 lock. Morrisons is practically giving it away.

Hi all, most supermarkets removed their trolley locks because they weren't ready for the new Pound Coin. Most now seem to have got the issue fixed, except for Morrison's (of course...) So, of course, when trollies are 'free' they get taken for a ride. I keep putting them in the back of the car and returning them - 8 or 9 in the last few weeks - otherwise they very quickly start to attract litter and rubbish. It also doesn't feel good having them hanging around on the street. Morrison's just need to crack on with fixing the new locks and then most of the problem will go away!

Phoned morrison  no management  was able to come to the phone . Spoke a very unhelpful  person who taken down details of where  the are plus a call  back from manger after a long call why their is a promlem  anyway it seems it's company  now don't but locks  on them anymore  didn't know why  ?.

Perhaps the Council should be contacting Morrisons to ask what they are going to do about it?Anybody tried using the Ealing 24/7 app or www.fixmystreet.com to report this?

Yep I counted 6 yesterday in around the new flats near the overground station.

They are dotted all around the South Acton Estate. Very annoying when you have to wait by the entrance at Morrison's when there are none of the smaller ones available.
