Vets that do home visits

I have been trying to get my adult cat to the vet, but fail every time as she cries, hisses, growls, bites before she breaks free and runs away.Does anybody know of a vet that does home visits and doesn't cost an absolute fortune?!!

lol, know what you mean, my younger cat is a pain when trying to put the flea drops on his neck so have to distract him with food, he was a stray cat and difficult to handle, he don't bite though.  the older one had his teeth cleaned and was there over night when I got him home next day and pick him up to cuddle him he sunk his teeth in my shoulder, it never cut me through my clothes but did hurt, he had previously belong to my Niece who sadly died so I gave him a home, he was 9 then and now 19 to old toHave his teeth cleaned again thank goodness.  He's a real character.

All the " Young  surgeries do house calls. Hounslow came a few weeks ago to send my little doggie to Heaven. There is a Youngs  at Ealing Common. Hoping all works out for you. I used to throw a huge bath towel over my resisting  moggie . Had a wire basket with lid opening upwards so easy to drop puss in

My older cat he's quite easy to get to the vet but when we get home he bites me.

Funnily enough, both my cats don't particularly like the vets, but I rarely have a problem getting them into the basket, maybe they have such rubbish memories that they don't remember to associate the basket with a trip to the vets or when they were kittens I did leave the carrier out and open and our femail cat loves to sleep in it, in fact she would spend all of her time in there if we left it out!

You could be really mean: put some food down for her, and while she is eating, throw a towel over her, grab and bundle her into the carrier. I have to do that (minus the towel) with one of mine. They will hate you - for a while - but as a last resort it might be worth a try. And wear a sturdy jacket and gloves!

I've tried that Janice. She refuses to be tricked. She just wouldn't eat the food or go anywhere near it. But I guess it's worth another try. Thanks

Try feeding your cat inside the carrier for a few days before, then shut her in.

Hi KevinFunnily enough, I  Did ask them if they had any very light sedation pills just to calm her so I could get her to her appointment. I think they thought I was bonkers and they were definitely not entertaining that idea!!

Thanks for your advice. I don't really have s choice in this as I've been trying to get her to the vet for the past year now as she needs her annual booster jabs. I've spoken to local vets to see if there's a way to coax her.....but they couldn't come up with any ideas.

Most vets will do this but it is a very expensive option. Ask Acton Lane vets or Goddards for a quote, obviously it depends on where you live and what needs doing. They may also be able to give advice on how to persuade your cat to cooperate.
