Playing area South Acton Estate.

Walked to the Tube this morning and noticed that they are boarding off a large section of the area where kids play and folk walk their dogs on the South Acton Estate. The mature trees are also being cut down by the looks of it.Such a shame as this is quite a large area of grass ideal for recreational use for those who don't have a garden.

While visiting friends at the Redbrick we met a group of workers who were putting up a fence between the playground and the open grassy area so suitable for football. THey told us that the site would be used to build another 52 homes, and that the mature trees at the edge would have to go to allow access.

There is quite a useful map on the other side of the road, where the new blue/green hoarding is round the redbricks. It looks as though some mature trees are coming down in the latest phase, but quite a few are being retained.

Yes Tony And the council did put play are in a few years ago sent a email to acton gardens plans to see part 7.1 they say that they will replace trees and play area sometime in the future  also the height of the new flats are  7 to 8 high
