Everyone Active gym

Does anyone have a clue what the 'unforeseen circumstances' are that have closed the gym today and tomorrow? Everything was fine when I was there for Aqua at 8am today. They can't have burned the place down since then, surely!

I trust they'll be refunding memberships on a pro rata basis? Suggesting that members schlep to Northolt or Southall is ridiculous.

Is it just the Gym that has this problem or the whole building,Swimming Pool,Library and Council offices.Considering the building has been open for less than four years, this seems pretty appalling if this is the case.Is this what we can expect from the regeneration of Acton?

That gym is so badly let down by its management. Good facilities, great trainers, but chimpanzees could run it better. Why were the fire alarms not tested regularly?

I imagine that hose parents would be more upset if a fire had started and they were not aware until too late.Imagine the outcry if something had happened and it turned out that management knew about it but let things run for a few days without proper cover.Note - I know nothing more about the situation than I have read in this thread.

According to my PT who called this afternoon, the fire alarms were discovered to have failed - indeed they may have all failed some time ago but the new broom of a general manager has decreed that now he knows about it, the centre has to close until they are all fixed.Can you imagine if it were your child's birthday party booked in for today? No advance notice and all the little darlings about to turn up...Apparently there are some VERY cross parents baying for blood.
