The new cycle super highway

I've been reading reports of the TfL consultation with residenrs and traders along the Chiswick high Road. Not strictly Acton business except many of us shop and eat in Chiswick too.  A trip to eat Fouberts icecream ok a summer date for us since my children were small. What do people think about tgevsuper highway?

It would be interesting to know why people are driving there and how it would make them change what they were doing.  How many are just driving straight through for instance, and how many are taking children to school.  If you could find a safer way of getting the children to school and knowing that they had actually arrived could you be persuaded to change your routine?

I Thought the cycle way on the Westway was really good as it would be a much faster and safer way into town. I agree with Mark. chiswick is already congested it would only create more bad feeling against cyclists and anyway there are the bus lanes you can use.

It reminds me a bit of West London Tram in which an attempt was being made to fit too many things into the same road space. The proposal for the superhighway along the Westway was ditched even though it proved quite popular during the consultation. This proposal looks set to be tremendously unpopular but I don't imagine TfL will be that bothered.
