Are you, like me, unimpressed with the dissatisfactory leval of political debate on offer locally? Ward forums that are nothing more than a mouthpiece for council propaganda, election hustings that are woefully inadequate and rarely give you much indication of a candidates personel metal, and council meetings at the Town Hall that are nothing but a cure for insomnia.Well I would like to propose the setting up of a series of public debates on political and social issues without interference from the authorities, where anyone can speak out on relevent topical subjects, preferably of a provocative and questioning nature, in an informal and lively atmosphere, without having to listen to councillors or officials talking down to them.As my organizational skills are at best embarrasing, I am looking for people to help me set this up.Anyone wishing to help me with this enterprise should be willing to bring lots of enthusiasm but also be prepared to put aside party loyalties and also want to operate in a loose, flexible and relatively unstructured environment.I am looking to arrange this in the Ealing and Acton area as this seems to be the part of the borough where there is most interest in this type of debate.If these ideas appeal to you please email me by clicking onto my name at the top of the post or leave a message on 07852 453 945 and I will get back to you ASAP.Many thanks,Bob LittlePolitical Ronin and South Acton Renagade!
