Visited for a meal early Wednesday evening. It’s part of the Three Cheers chain who have pubs mostly in South London (Battersea, Clapham etc). Usual pub fare, not particularly special but OK taste and price wise. Went at 6.30pm and received prompt and attentive service BUT that deteriorated as the evening went on, because by 8pm, the place was humming with people. Virtually all tables in the restaurant, bar and garden area were full and the waiting staff were struggling to keep up. It also became extremely noisy and we found it hard to hear ourselves talk. (Mind you we are in our 60’s and probably losing some of the hearing capacities). Next time, I think we will go at lunch when it might not be as busy and hopefully a lot quieter! As an old gin palace, they are keeping the tradition going, by stocking over 100 types of gin!!
