New Parking Restrictions

The new parking restrictions that have kicked in around Churchfield Road have really affected business with customers complaining that there is nowhere for them to park especially at lunch time. Although parking has been a huge issue since the London Borough of Ealing sold off the car park to the developers across the road from us - these restrictions have made things even worse. Churchfield Road needs business to flourish to keep improving. The council only seems to care about its regeneration of the Oaks Shopping Centre. Are any of the other business owners affected?

The first 75 minutes free is just about right, 30 minutes is really not much time when you have to wait to pay etc.,

Could not agree with you more, since the new parking system has been introduced it has freed up parking spaces in the residential roads off Churchfield Road and I as a resident now find it much easier to go out and re-park on my return. Long may it last!

A place I visit a bit further out has a long parking bay outside all the independent shops and the first 75 minutes are free, it works wonderfully well and is what you really need if there is enough space.

Part of the issue is the market vehicles. Originally they parked in the Council car park behind the old Oaks. When that was taken over, they parked in the surrounding streets. There has been no provision for them but they need their vehicles to bring their stalls and produce from home. The Oaks itself generates a lot of traffic from their own workmen and from vehicles servicing the site. They also parked in the surrounding streets. With the introduction of the new all day parking restrictions, where are they supposed to go?
