Churchfield Road closure

The section of Churchfield Road between Grove Road and Market Place has been cordoned off (though still traffic allowed between Newburgh and Derwentwater.  Just been there, and police have evacuated The Oaks as they have found a grenade on site.

Indeed I did. And that has nothing to do with solving the problems on Churchfield Rd or anything else within the Council’s power. Labour’s literature is promising they'll ‘fight’ against 'Hard Brexit', a wonderful way to distract from their record of incompetence and inattentiveness in running the Council. Of course, you’re free to vote for whoever you like, for whatever reason you like.

Ha, yes very good.I was canvased by labour.I said sort out Churchfield road now and you'll have my vote.1, In a week i want the parking in operation, free 30 mins and no freebie traders semi-permanent parking.2, Finish Chruchfield improvements in the next two weeks the blinkin roadworks that has now over run twice. OK you've come across issues but how many months extra do you need?3, Tighten up OAKS development Chruchfield entrance, ok you've got banksman but you've double yellow that is only occasionally enforced opposite, get parking wardens pass as part of their round.4, Put in a camera for speeding down Churchfield and illegal parking outside Mayar fish, Oriental and Sainsburys and it will pay for camera installation in 6 mths.5, Control backlog of OAKS delivery trucks by enforcing illegal parking.Come on Ealing Councillors, this forum is well supported by local VOTERS.. act.

Seeing as you ask, the next local election is May 3rd - so this is key pressure time for councillors and candidates.We have already been canvassed by Labour (I was hopeless and discussed neither anti-semitism nor Churchfield Road) but not by anyone else yet.

These roadworks have extended twice now. We'll over the amended 30 weeks. Us locals are stuffed over the Oaks, decisons out of our hands.However we can petition councillors to get pro active with churchfield road works. Our local shops are going bankrupt with unrestricted or loosely controlled contractors. Otto trading, village store, English butcher, Cape charity, Arthur razor and classix. Residential parking is now all day, the free 30 mins still not implemented. Randomly controlled double yellow parking outside oaks, Otto and sainsburys is killing through fare. Councillors take note... You're looking your voters!!!So when is the next local election????Do something

But we always knew they would be vile, disruptive and have nothing to offer the people of Acton.Any sops to local protest have been abandoned.Not sure there is ANY section whatever it is provision for local amenity now.Completely predictable and an abomination from the start.Which is why the local community tried to stop it and was appalled when protest was bought off by a completely specious and doomed-not-to-happen promise of a Waitrose.

Hi. I live very close to the Oaks building site on Churchfield road and have been here all afternoon. I havn't heard a loud bang. I also walked past the site, on the Churchfield rd side earlier (after the labourers were evacuated) and talked to one of the supervisers,I also over-heard a police officer talking. They were both saying that it wasn't a serious situation..hence the public are still allowed to walk by. However, it was nice to hear the birdsong rather than the  sounds of machinary for a while.

I've just heard a massive bang in North Acton coming from the Oaks direction.  Hopefully a controlled explosion.
