Acton Gridlock

It seems to be every day that Acton High Street is utterly gridlocked.  Took me 30 minutes to get from the Town Hall to the Red Lion on a bus for shopping today.  The same on Thursday. It's got worse.All very well building thousands of flats but how about doing something sensible about the traffic? (don't know what though!)

There were a series of accidents in West London yesterday afternoon/evening. A40 closed for ages. Parts of the North Circular. A4 at Sutton Court Road. Compounded by problems on the Piccadilly Line!

I was stuck on a bus going to Ealing Common. The driver advised there was an accident on the A40 so everything was being diverted our way. He also advised we get off and walk which I did, only to find the Piccadilly Line had severe delays! Wish I'd stayed at home.

Well there is a spectacular gridlock now Friday at 6pm. All over Acton including an artic down Churchfield Road...

I totally agree with you Sarah.This crazy idea of making pavements larger.Therefore making the roads narrower is really daft.No doubt there will be a do godder who will be disagreeing with me.These idea's cause polluation.

On April 25 I ended up walking carrying a heavy bag from Park Royal Station along Coronation Road to Central Middlesex Hospital, and later along Park Royal Road to Gypsy Corner, past traffic that was almost stationary. I think there were two problems, temporary traffic lights Victoria Road by North Acton Station plus a traffic lights failure at the Wales Farm Road / Western Avenue junction (digging in progress this morning close to the new control boxes).

Maybe ending the much delayed works on Churchfield road currently blocking off Alfred road.... or not doing it as the same time as the beastly Oaks development (which shouldn't be happening at all of course) And then co-ordiating so that there aren't emergency traffic lights on the Vale at the same time as on CFR.If I can work that out with no training or experience in traffic or congestion management, you would think those paid to do it would be able to join up the dots....
