Meeting 19th Sept about EveryoneActive Pool & Gyms, Acton

Do you use Acton swimming pool or gyms? I do, every day, and I am depressed at the shabby changing areas - no wristbands for locker keys, no locks, in some cases, showers out of action for weeks and so on - given that the pool itself is superb.Join me in trying to kick start some change there at the characteristically poorly advertised "Member Forum" (sic) on Wednesday 19th September 18.30-19.30 at the building in the High Street.We can try...Ray Batchelor

That sounds promising but I'm astonished to find there is a cleaning manager. Did they mention how often they clean the pool? Indeed, any information about the cleaning schedule would be interesting.T

I was able to go and these are my opinions/observations. Fairly decent turn out. Big group from the aqua classes who jointly had many constructive comments to air. Topics discussed were cleaning, broken equipment, booking of classes, temperature of the pool and others which now I forget. General manager is Laura Griffiths. Cleaning manager is Billy Ross. Pool manager is Danielle. Front of house manager was also there but I'm sorry I cannot remember her name now. Personally I thought it was a helpful meeting with overall a good atmosphere. We all appreciate this wonderful facility in Acton for those of us who cannot afford the Park club! We all want to see pool and gym sustained and improved. Laura Griffiths said there would be other forums in the future. I hope that these will be better advertised and abundant notice given.

Intrigued if anyone who went can report back on this forum. The level of decrepitude is getting comic. Did they make any promises or are they going under?!

I sadly can't make this meeting but it does seem as though no more money is being put into the Acton location.  I've started to use the Victoria Everyone active near my work and it appears they have more investment.  Some of the mats at Everyone Active Acton are so worn out they are disgusting. I don't know if any equipment has been replaced since they gym opened?

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it. But I agree. Also to add, some of the machines in the "Ladies Gym" are broken for weeks - Like the exercise bike's bearing clearly gone - and are not fixed either.  It's a real shame. Good luck!

Good upon you Ray for actually trying to DO something.Where do their funds come from, I note they only work in "Partnership" with Ealing Council, whatever that means?

Good on you Ray, unfortunately it was everything you mentioned that made me join David Lloyd (reluctantly). Many others have felt the same that such wonderful facilities are being neglected.
