Friary Park regeneration consultation - 18-Sep-2018

Catalyst have new proposals for Friary Park. They say that they have modified their previous proposal because of the new draft London Plan requiring Ealing borough to have 116% more new homes than in the previous plan. So, if you want to see if this means that they want to go higher or smaller or have less community space then get along to their presentation on 18th September 2018 — open from 4PM to 8PM at Friary Park Community Centre.
They have circulated some leaflets in the area — see attached

You are right on the money Tania. This Labour/Southall Controlled LBE Council care nothing for the true needs of Acton residents.If these Towers go up on the south side of the Western Avenue it's all over, they will start popping up everywhere there's enough small footprint of land to accommodate them.EVERYONE needs to support stopping them, or these Towers will be coming to a plot near YOU soon!Nowhere is safe from Towers in Acton under The Dear Leader, "Two Houses, Two Jobs, Tory Cuts" and his Southall Posse.

Haha, you couldn't make it up: "You told us you're concerned about a taller building at Friary Park. We had previously reduced the height of the tallest building to 17 storeys in response to this feedback.However, due to the need to deliver more new homes, we need to increase the height of some of the buildings. The tallest building is now 24 storeys, with another at 22 and one at 19"So everyone complained about the height of ONE building. So they've increased it AND added two more massive towers. Anyway, I think the problem here isn't the developers, the problem is the council. They will waive it through regardless of what they put together.

I went o the event - and filled in the survey form.They will be obliged to submit a summary of the survey responses.If very few went in and spoke face-to-face with them and complete the survey then expect the survey response to imply little local concern.Anyone here from the Friary Park Residents' Steering Group?

Residents are neither naive nor stupid, and we are all very, very aware of how the whole shady, shoddy system works.Meet with the Planning Dept. clandestinely over a period of time and get the advice required to ensure your planning application when lodged will be Granted.Apply for planning permission and the Planning Department recommend Granting.Watch on helplessly as the Labour dominated & whipped Planning Committee waive a "Granted" through, usually with a few piss-poor "Conditions", which are never enforced.Democracy and what residents want & need from their elected Ward Councillor representatives doesn't come into it. At all.

The application has not been submitted yet so there is time for people who are concerned to get out and make others aware.

So being overlooked and having your sunlight blocked are no longer grounds for Objecting & Refusal anymore?And, of course, no new schools, doctor's surgeries, dental surgeries, etc still not planned I imagine?Just WHO are the tossers continually signing all these towers off without a single increase in any health & schooling support services?And has anyone at all considered how the poo pipes are going to cope?!!!!!Still, plenty of extra £££££££s coming in for "Two Houses, Two Jobs, Tory Cuts" and his Southall Posse I suppose, so that's allright.

... and their revised proposal is broad terms is to go higher.Tower of 24, 22, 19, 14 and 2x12 floors plus lots of 5 and 6 floors.With the tallest block being close to Acton Main Line station.Previous proposal had 17 as tallest.

I gotta agree, concern in providing good & proper, appropriate social housing is nowhere near their prime motivator.As anyone with half a brain knows and can see.

There is NO way those Towers should be allowed to cross southwards across the A40 Western Avenue "border".If that happens and these monstrosities get built they'll propagate like rats throughout our quiet residential area.Makes me laugh how these Housing Associations are "Not for Profit", anyone seen what their Executives get paid? And what about their shoddy, cheapo building standards, no doubt whatever they build will need to be torn down in another twenty years and "better", even higher towers built.
