The application which was granted did not meet London Plan standards for social housing. This further application for an extra 33 units does not contain any social housing. There is a possibility that objections pointing this out may stop the application being granted.I have just lodged an objection on these grounds and I think if enough people object on this we may win.

It's a short walk from East Acton station and several buses pass by there. I'd be a lot more worried about the traffic fumes.

I feel sorry for the residents as the pollution is terrible from the motorway.

And no car parking! Having seen all the new blocks of flats being built along the A40 I really so wonder how the inhabitants are going to travel, find doctors, shops, schools etc. But that doesn't seem to matter anymore.

About 300 I think - in tower blocks with a (rumoured) Lidl

Demolition is about to start. What's going there -- poky, jerry-built flats?
Sorry John, meant Argos, Homebase, the shops you mention, Acton Central etc ticket offices due to close, King Street post office due to close with no replacement planned....sad state of affairs.

It is sad of course but this reflects how we shop. If footfall goes down as people shop online, high street shops will go. Use it or loose it!

On a positive note - I can't wait for the Lidl.

When last in there, I was told they were closing for good on 24th September. Two more shops gone in Acton, to make way for more big blocks of flats.

I passed by it on Saturday and it looked very, very closed, with the name torn off the side of the building.

Saw a tweet from Hitesh yesterday saying it is now closed.
