Collapsing Flat Prices in Acton Give Developers Headache

What a shame eh?Seems like the wheels may be coming off "Two Houses, Two Jobs" Grand Plan to continue trashing Acton.

Please oppose the latest plans to turn the Barratt Homebase site from an already overreaching 16 storeys to 19, 364 flats with zero parking provision bar 17 disabled spots.  Looking in the portal under East Acton - posted week before last.

No they are very different. 'Affordable housing' could be sold or rented at anything up to 80% of market rents and has ended up largely being subsidised housing for relatively well off people. Social housing is allocated on the basis of need.

Whatever traits one attaches to said type of occupant, we all know exactly what happens when you stuff Towers to the gunnels with "Affordable Housing." The title itself just being the usual PC nonsense playing with words, what was wrong with "Social Housing", which is what it is.I rest my case M' Lud.  :-)

Ealing was the most successful borough in bidding for funds from the Mayor to build more social housing. It wouldn't be surprising if a lot of these stalled projects were redesigned with a higher social housing content paid for by this money.
