David Lloyd membership increased

Hi, any other couples at a David Lloyd get the email tonight saying their partners membership is effectively no longer discounted from January 1st 2019?Was looking for my original contract, was sure it was a price for life.Regards, Carl

I found out about this today and am absolutely appalled.  I cancelled straight away.

I was also informed my membership would increase 6% from 1 Jan 2019.When queried, they came back and admitted that was not permitted under current terms and conditions as they have to give 3 months notice if rise is above 1% over inflation which it most certainly is.  Offered I could cancel membership or carry on with current rate for another 3 months to 'pretend' they had given correct notice.Outrageous that rates are increasing at all when they haven't even been open for a year!!

Agreed, they said the same to me.  Not happy at all, rather crooked when they made that a big bonus of signing up early.

Precisely what The Park Club did years ago - big discount for 'founding member' locals, and while fixtures and fitting were still being installed. What seemed like five minutes later, they doubled their fees. I quit on principle and went to Esporta in Chiswick. Thanks be for the bargain that is Everyone Active now. It may be rougher around the edges but, on balance, all you need if you're there to work out.

They're very cagey about cost, aren't they? I was looking at their website a few weeks ago to get an idea of their charges and there was no hint.
